Sir David Jason


Sir David Jason most recognised for his role in Only Fools & Horses was born on 2 February 1940 He has become one of Britain's most famous and respected actors. He is a versatile actor who is most famously known for his role in "Only Fools and Horses" (1981) as Del Boy. He made his debut as DelBoy back in 1981 and was still playing the same role up to the Christmas special in 2002. His big break came in the 1967 children's comedy show "Do Not Adjust Your Set" (1967) starring alongside members of the Monty Python team: Terry Jones; Eric Idle, and Michael Palin. He also Received two awards at the British Television Awards. He got the awards for "Britain's Best Actor" and "Britain's Best Comedy Actor".

Sitcoms


Sitcoms (Situation comedy) originated and radio it first started in January 12, 1926 with the broadcast of Sam “n” Henry and started off as being a 15-minute daily program The first true British sitcom was Pin Wright’s Progress, broadcast by the BBC from 1946 to 1947, but the form didn't really take off until the transfer of Hancock's Half Hour from BBC radio in the 1950s. The series remains the most successful and fondly remembered early sitcom, and was successful enough to run simultaneously on BBC Radio throughout the late 1950’s

Only Fools & Horses


Only fools and horses is a British sitcom which was broadcasted by the BBC and started in 1981 and was a big hit which got high ratings and got the highest UK audience for a sitcom with the episode from 1996 “time on our hands”. Only Fools & Horses was about a Peckham market trader called Dell boy and his younger brother Rodney and there attempts to get rich "This time next year, we'll be millionaires" through buying and selling a variety of low-quality and illegal goods, such as Russian Army camcorders, luminous yellow paint and sex dolls filled with an explosive gas. John Sullivan wrote only Fool & Horses and won the BAFTA award for best comedy series in 1986, 1989 and 1997, was nominated in 1984, 1987, 1990, 1991 and 1992, and won the audience award in 2004. David Jason received individual BAFTAs for his portrayal of Del Boy in 1991 and 1997. The series won a National Television Award in 1997 for most popular comedy series; Jason won two individual awards, in 1997 and 2002.

I am really disappointed.  You began with such enthusiasm and gusto and yet you have not added a thing since our lesson before Easter!  You should have completed research on your sitcom, Jacob.  I also set a homework task on Wednesday and this has not been completed.  You will complete this work after school with me.
